Community Strife

The struggle to retain local control over quality of life often reaches a boiling point in communities dominated by animal factory farms, sometimes pitting brother against brother and neighbor against neighbor. If not generating more revenue than they consume in terms of infrastructure, social services, and other costs, CAFOs can strain communities economically. Citizens who suffer unbearable and unpredictable odors along with plummeting property values have no choice but to fight back.
